Elevating the HardwareSource Experience
Client's Goal for the Project:
The goal of the HardwareSource project was to enhance the online shopping experience for customers seeking specialty hinges. As the specialty hinge division of San Diego Hardware, the client aimed to leverage its rich history of family-owned operations since 1892 and offer a seamless, user-friendly platform for customers to explore and purchase a wide selection of hinge styles and finishes.
Details about My Contribution to the Project:
As the UX designer for HardwareSource, my contribution focused on optimising the online shopping journey for customers seeking specialty hinges. I worked to enhance the user interface, making it intuitive and accessible for users to navigate through the extensive selection of hinge styles and finishes. My role involved improving the clarity and completeness of product information, ensuring customers have all the details they need before making a purchase.
I implemented user-centric design principles to simplify the ordering process, making it easy for customers to place orders online, by phone, fax, or mail. The goal was to create a platform that reflects the tradition of courteous, friendly service maintained by San Diego Hardware for over a century.

The HardwareSource project achieved success in providing customers with an enhanced and efficient online shopping experience for specialty hinges. The optimised user interface, clear product information, and easy ordering options contributed to a positive reception from customers.
